A Space for MEN
A Space for Men is part of CREDI’s “Human Flourishing Programme: Being and Becoming in Christ.” Born out of the cry of fatherlessness and the father wound, the crisis of male maturation by many youth and families encountered in our ministry, after prayer and discernment, “A Space for Men” began.
This is a space for men 30 years and older to accompany and bless each other on the journey. It is a space to share our stories, grow together, pray together, connect, support and recreate together. It is a space to consciously do the inner work of transformation, the journey of becoming whole and holy. It is a sacred space as we recognise God who is at work in the narratives of our lives blessing us. It is a space for prayer, healing, and recreation. The experience connects us with nature and is unplugged. What we do not transform, we will transmit in some way (Cf. Rohr).
T.O.B. Experiences
T.O.B. Experiences is part of CREDI’s Human Flourishing Programme: Being and Becoming in Christ. It is designed to provide participants with transformative experiences through authentically encountering oneself, others, nature and ultimately God. By stepping away from the noise of our distractions, of social media and modern technology, and the busyness of everyday life, we journey to a remote space to be renewed, refreshed and reconciled. Nature teaches us, as we take time to marvel at its beauty, reflect on our limitedness, vulnerability and gift, recognise the dignity of the person and the call to communion, listen deeply to the voice of God present in us and around us, we learn all is gift.
Through our Scramble Hike we engage our bodies, learning to respect the laws of nature, building awareness of our strengths and weaknesses, growing as a community knowing we cannot make it on our own, and ultimately relying on God’s grace for each step of the journey. No one is left behind. It becomes the metaphor for the call to holiness and virtue which is a task laid before us that, through God’s grace and the support of each other is possible. The Holy Mass is the highpoint of our journey. We recreate together and share the graces. It is a healing space. Beauty revealed! Wonder awoken! Faith deepened! Community appreciated! Identity and belonging in Christ reclaimed!
