Catholic Religious Education Development Institute (CREDI)
The Catholic Religious Educational Development Institute (CREDI) is charged with the Goal of promoting “integral human development” (Caritas in Veritate #11) in the Archdioceses of Port of Spain. Its programmes are designed to foster the growth of participants to become the best version of themselves.
In a spirit of collaboration with the other Commissions, Departments, Companies and Ecclesial groups of the Archdiocese. CREDI’s aim is to:
- Educate for a critical consciousness and social awareness so as to inspire participants to integral human development
- Deliver programmes that allow participants to grow in self-knowledge and self-confidence, as they become servant leaders in different ways.
- Offer programmes of education based on a deep respect for the human person, intellectual values and Catholic traditions.
- Develop a cadre of missionary disciples for service to parishes, schools, and the national community.
Discernment and Delivery of the Formation Agenda in pursuit of Integral Human Development across the Archdiocese.

Who we are
The Catholic Religious Educational Development Institute (CREDI) has been a longstanding, educational institution offering a range of programmes aimed at supporting individuals in their development as missionary disciples and servant leaders.
Mission
CREDI is a Catholic tertiary institution committed to developing missionary disciples for service to church and society through transformative programmes of education. A good mission statement describes the purpose of an organization’s existence. We at CREDI believe that our mission statement clearly and simply does just that.
Our Partners
CREDI’s associates include the Theological Institute and the Seminary of St. John Vianney and the Uganda Martyrs (SJVUM). The Theological Institute and the SJVUM provide the spiritual formation of seminarians for the diocesan priesthood and the theological formation of clergy, religious and laity for service in the Archdiocese.
