Leading Catholic Education
This course provides a forum for leaders to review their vocation as leaders in Catholic primary/ secondary schools. It underscores the importance of understanding the Catholic philosophy of education, a necessary requirement for translating the school experience into one that all, within the school walls, can grow in fullness as children of God and responsible citizens of the world. It will outline the importance of the Catholic worldview, spirituality, morality and Catholic pedagogy in the formation of the whole person through the varied experiences in the school curriculum that go beyond secular goals.
Literacy For Life
The Literacy For Life programme, led by CREDI in collaboration with CEBM, The Franciscan Institute and NALIS, focuses on training teachers to deliver systematic phonics instruction using the Jolly Phonics program. This program aims to make learning enjoyable for children while teaching them to read and write systematically. An integral part of the Literacy for Life program is Parenting for Literacy, which educates parents on how to support their children’s learning at home using Jolly Phonics. This alignment among principals, teachers, and parents enhances the program’s effectiveness and reinforces student learning.

Theology of the Body (TOB) courses I, II, III
The Theology of the Body (TOB) Institute offers formation through online and in-person courses. We have collaborated with the Institute since August 2021 to provide formation for persons in the Archdiocese. These courses, based on St. John Paul’s TOB, draw from Scripture and Catholic Tradition, to illuminate “the human desire for love and fulfillment.
By charting a path to an authentic sexual redemption, the Theology of the Body serves as the antidote to the culture of death and the foundation of the culture of life” (TOB Institute). It is a source of healing for those who facilitate it and for those who receive it. It attends to the deepest questions of the heart: “Who am I? Why am I here? How can I be happy? Why do I experience all these deep longings in my body and soul and what am I to do with them? What is my ultimate destiny and how do I get there?
In the midst of the profound sexual crisis that is wreaking havoc in both the secular world and in the Church, the TOB offers the hope of healing and restoration we all so desperately need, enabling everyone to rediscover not only the meaning of our creation as male and female, but through that, “the meaning of the whole of existence, the meaning of life” (TOB 46:6)” (TOB Institute).
“The Archdiocese of Port of Spain is using the FORMED.org platform to bring faith formation to everyone across Trinidad and Tobago, and beyond.
